The Agri-Food Innovation Feature, (Hall B) is one of the main reasons people come to The Royal. Over 30,000 square feet of display space is dedicated to engaging, educational and entertaining displays and presenters that demonstrate how the agri-food sector impacts our every-day lives, including:

  • healthy living
  • safe and locally produced food
  • environmental stewardship
  • renewable energy
  • agriculturally-based bioproducts

Exhibit Highlights 

Seed Survivor 

Seed Survivor is four-player agricultural interactive exhibit that teaches children that nutrients must be delivered at the right time, in the right amount, and at the right place. This interactive, 3-dimensional exhibit let’s your children control nutrient-dispensers in a virtual world. Seed Survivor is a big draw for today's tech-savvy kids; they can manipulate actual objects and computer simulations for a very “real” experience.

Soy House

Did you know that soybeans can be used to replace petroleum in plastic grocery bags, as well as the clothes we wear? The Soy House presented by Ontario’s soybean farmers in partnership with Quality Homes and Habitat for Humanity, Halton showed some of the 101+ uses of this remarkable crop including food, fuel, house insulation, sofas, car parts, bathroom fixtures and beauty products.

 
 
 
 
Soy-based furniture, cushions, carpet backing, candles and
low-VOC paints are just some of the 101+ Uses of Soy that were featured in the OSG-Quality Homes Soy House.
 
 
 
 
Visitors were able to tour the 1200 square foot house, and learn about the companies producing the soy-based products that comprise the house and its contents. and see how soy can be used in every room to create a greener, cleaner home.



FarmzonWheels 

Presented by the Ontario Farm Animal Council, FarmzonWheels spotlighted the science and stewardship of agriculture by showing that agriculture is deeply rooted in science – and cool!

A highlight of the exhibit was the manure biodigester that powered an iPod right before your eyes. Other interactive kiosks focused on:

  • Animal welfare
  • Technology
  • The Environment
  • Food science and nutrition

This exhibit was ideal for all members of the family, especially school age youth and was also a great addition to a school trip.
