Park your plow and get your glass! Mixology's back!
The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair hosts a Mixology competition every year. Mixology is the process of designing cocktails in a new and innovative way. Some bartenders achieve this with unique combinations of fresh ingredients and spices while other chose to utilize chemical processes to add foams, caviars and other unique modern twists. Toronto’s best mixologists will be concocting their own unique blends with their eyes on the prize again in 2012.
In 2011, it was a hoedown-themed event on the Entertainment & Home Stage. Contestants were challenged to go beyond mint juleps and rusty nails to make a truly rustic drink. Harvesting their best skills, we sought a beverage that would give us the liquid courage to dance, not just hit the floor when someone shouted "hoedown!"
Kevin Brauch (The Thirsty Traveller) hosted the event and Wiser's cocktails were served from our feature bar. Following the event, winners were invited to a special Hoedown, where guests grabbed a drink and met their maker.
