 2010 Riders At a Glance:

#8 REBECCA HOWARD, originally from Salmon Arm in BC, is now Equestrian Director at the Fork Stables in NC. With a 2nd place finish at this year’s Bromont CCI3*, Rebecca participated at this year’s World Equestrian Games as individual, riding Riddle Master at his first 4* to finish in 23rd spot. Riddle Master is owned by Caroline Bazley.

She rode TRISTAN, a 8 yr old Gelding owned by Caroline Bazley & Jean Watsen, a catch ride for Rebecca.
 
#9 SINEAD HALPIN from Pottersville, New Jersey, riding REBA’S SONG, owned by Lindsay Mahon. Sinead is a short listed rider with the US Equestrian Team. She is one of 16 riders in the United States named to the High Performance Training List. Third in this competition last year, Sinead had just returned from a Developing Riders Tour in Holland where the team won a Silver Medal.
 
#10 WAYLON ROBERTS from Port Perry, Ontario. & DUNAGHAN or CHOCCO DE POMME
Son of Ian Roberts, Waylon was a member of the Silver medal Eventing Team at the 2007 Pan American Games and a two time winner of this competition.
 
#11 IAN ROBERTS from Port Perry, Ontario & VIPER or NAPALM
Ian has been an Equine Canada listed athlete since 1982, and was named Male Rider and Male Coach of the year by the Ontario Equestrian Federation in 1995. Ian and his wife Kelly, also an Olympic 3 day Team member, operate Dreamcrest Farm. 
 
#12 PENNY ROWLAND & ROUNDABOUT                                                          
Penny broke onto the Canadian eventing scene in 1998, and was a member of the 2003 Silver Medal Pan Am team. Qualifed for the World Equestrian Games in 2006, she had top 20 finishes on Roundabout in 2006 & 7. She rode Roundabout, a 17 yr. old gelding owned by Penny and Don Good, a generous supporter of Canadian eventing.
 
#13 DIANA BURNETT & SHIGATZI
Diana was short listed to the Canadian Eventing Team in 2007. In 2008 she was named as an alternate for the Olympic Team and trained with them. This year she and Manny completed Rolex, and were alternates for WEG. She rode Shigatzi, a 7yr. gelding, owned by Diana & Valerie Eden. Shigatzi completed the CCI** at Fairhill and had wins at the Fork and Ocala.
 
#14 LEAHONA ROWLAND & EL PASO Introducing Leahona and El Paso, aka Pasta. Pasta is an 8yr old Trakehner gelding owned by Jessica DiGenova. He has competed successfully to the 2star level in eventing. They planned to compete at a CCI** in Florida in the winter of 2010 and then upgrade to the Advanced. Pasta’s affectionate personality and work ethic is what makes him a great event horse and a barn favourite.
 
#15 JESSICA PHOENIX & EXPLORING
In 2007 Jessica was 12th individually at the Pan Am Games. Short listed for the 2008 Olympic Games, an injury to her horse prevented her from participating. In 2010, Jessica rode as an individual at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky,on Exponential, where they had an explosive ride at the water complex resulting in a few scrapes and small overreach. Wisely, Jessica decided not to present him for the inspection before the show jumping. At The Royal she rode her own Exploring, a 13yr old Gelding.
 
#16 SELENA O’HANLON & PEANUTS 
Selena is a member of Canada’s Silver Medal Team at this year’s World Equestrian Games riding Colombo. She placed 12th overall. Selena is one of the country’s top young talents long listed in 2007, she also represented Canada at the Olympics in Hong Kong. She rode Peanuts, 11yr. gelding owned by The Watson Family and Morag O’Hanlon.
 
#17 DOUG PAYNE, USA, riding the 7yr old gelding CROWN TALISMAN owned by Doug Payne, Larry and Amelia Ross. Doug is well known as a competitor in eventing, dressage & show jumping, as well as a Judge, Technical delegate & Level III instructor. He is currently ranked 10th in the USEA Overall Rider Rankings with 14 wins in Eventing and 18 wins in Grand Prix Jumping.
 
#18 HOLLY PAYNE & STEEL COMMANDER
She rode Steel Commander, a 13yr. old Gelding
 
#19 STEPHANIE RHODES-BOSCH from Summerland, BC, has been living in the US for the past 4 years. A bronze medalist at the 2008 North American Young Riders, Stephanie & Port Authority finished 5th at thr 2010 Rolex, the highest a Canadian has ever finished there. Stephanie was a member of Canada’s Silver Medal Team at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, riding Port Authority, where they were Canada’s highest place rider, finishing in 9th position. Port Authority is having a well earned vacation, so she rode RATHER BREEZY, a 10yr old mare owned by Krystin Anderson of Tottenham, Ontario, instead.
 
#20 CLARISSA WILMERDING, USA rode POPPET an 11 yr. old Mare
Growing up Clarissa was a member of Somerset Hills Pony Club and foxhunted with the Essex Fox Hounds. She spent 7 years working and training in England with Jane Holderness-Roddam. Successful at the CCI*** level numerous times with recently retired Mystry Man II, Clarissa has two exciting upper level prospects in Luna and the horse she will be riding, Poppet. She credits Laura Chapot, Bruce Davidson and Heather Mason for much of her success.
