Cory was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario and began cooking at age fifteen, starting his own catering business out of his family home.

He’s a graduate of Stratford Chef School and did his apprenticeship at Scaramouche restaurant in toronto before opening The Harbord Room. This was an award winning restaurant. along with the Harbord Room’s impeccable reviews, Toronto Life named their burger the best in Toronto – twice. Conde Nast magazine named the restaurant one of its best world-wide hot-spots in 2010, enroute magazine called it one of the best new restaurants in Canada, and Now Magazine has called The Harbord Room the best restaurant in the Annex since 2010.

After 10 years, in october of 2016 Vitiello announced the closing of The Harbord Room as the team decided to focus on a new large-scale venture. Cory now owns and operates Flock Rotisserie and Greens which offers delicious food that’s “pretty good for you” whether you’re looking for a speedy take-out option or a casual dine-in spot. Flock is a quality, healthy and easy choice and it offers fresh ingredients that provide the fuel to get his diners through their days! As of the summer of 2022 there are now 7 locations throughout toronto. In 2022, Hot Flock opened its first location in Niagara.

In 2017 and 2018 Cory was also named as the Ferrari Challenge Executive Chef, travelling with the racing series to provide the drivers, their families, and supporters with a luxury experience at each track.

As if he didn’t have enough on his plate, Cory joined the cactus club restaurants as the head of culinary development in Toronto.

Some of Chef Cory’s other career highlights include his gig as sous chef at Cecconi’s, in Melbourne, Australia (2003) and Chef de Cuisine at Toronto’s Drake Hotel (2004-2007). Cory was voted the best new chef in Toronto in 2009 by enroute magazine.

As well as being an accomplished chef, Cory is a proud father and a soon to be published cookbook author.
