celebrating over a century of champions

Come celebrate the best in agriculture, local food, and equestrian competitions from across the country.

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair takes place every November in the City of Toronto. Whether you’re a visitor or an exhibitor, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is jam-packed with home-grown fun and the best in local food and animal entertainment.

The Royal is the largest combined indoor agriculture fair and international equestrian competition in the world. It is where Canadian and international breeders, growers and exhibitors are declared champions and where hundreds of thousands of attendees come to learn, compete, shop and have a great time with friends and family.

The 2022 Royal Ambassador is Winston. The 26-year-old Percheron Cross is over 1.7 metres tall and will be a key figure in our centennial celebration hosted in Toronto. Winston is part of our history just like the previous beloved Royal Ambassadors, which includes Turbo the Goat, Lil’ Ben the Miniature Horse, and rooster-duo, The Royal Duke and his son The Royal Roy.

Stay tuned as we reveal what’s to come in 2023.

The Royal commissioned a Canadian tartan designer to create a 100th-anniversary tartan, accredited by the Scottish Register of Tartans. The design brings to life “A Century of Champions” with 100 threads of royal blue and 22 threads of dark blue (representing the Fair’s centennial span – 1922-2022).
