2023 Feature Performances & Activities

Celebrate the very best in Canadian Agriculture, food and Equestrian sport this November!

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair will return to Toronto’s Exhibition Place from November 3-12, 2023. In our 101st year, The Royal is offering up a new and refreshed slate of programming designed to showcase the very best in Canadian agriculture, food and equestrian competitions.

Royal Rodeo featuring guest emcee Amber Marshall

The Royal Rodeo brings together the best bull, saddle bronc and bareback riders from across the country. Guests will also get a chance to cheer on top barrel racers and pole benders and saddle bronc riders while enjoying entertainment.

The Royal K9-Equine Challenge
presented by Booster Juice

This is a partnership of an International Rider/horse paired with a SuperDog. Each member of the team goes around their respective course – horses over horse jumps and dogs around dog obstacles. The fastest combined time wins. It’s a fast and fun event for the whole family.

Square Dancing

The final Sunday of the Fair is filled with fiddle music as partners take the OLG Entertainment Stage to compete in the Royal Square Dancing Competition. Cheer on entries both young and old as this traditional dance gets its time in the spotlight. Drop by the Lower East Annex (Hall F) from 9:00am – 3:00pm.

Butter Sculpture Display Presented by Gay Lea

Visit the Gay Lea Butter Sculpture Display Trailer to see an artist sculpt a masterpiece completely out of butter.

Dairy Education Centre

Dairy Farmers of Ontario’s Dairy Education Centre is an immersive dairy farming experience. Guests can get an up-close view of dairy cow care, dairy calves, and the entire milking process.

The Royal Paddock

Explore exclusive Royal Paddock merchandise online and at The Fair, featuring the official Ambassador Collection, and more. New items added weekly, including the chance to own a piece of Canada's farming history with official Royal Fair Cattle Stalls, where champion cattle have been housed at The Royal Winter Agricultural Fair.

Artisan Pavilion

The Made By Me Artisan Pavilion, a space dedicated to local, Canadian vendors to display their unique, hand-crafted products. In this space you will find an array of wares, ranging from woodcrafts, glass and pottery, to clothing, decor, pet products and artwork. Don’t miss our branded pavilion at this years’ Fair! Burnbrae Farms Culinary Academy

Every day the Burnbrae Farms Culinary Academy will feature notable chefs teaching their favourite recipes and highlighting amazing local ingredients. Space is limited so be sure to sign up today. $20 per session.

OLG Entertainment Stage

Experience live music and entertainment at the OLG Entertainment Stage!

Animal Theatre

In the Royal's Animal Theatre, animals at work and play are the stars of the show. You will be inspired by the skills of border collies herding sheep on command and the athleticism of the Global Pet Foods SuperDogs®.

Spotlight on Local: Presented by Metro

Spotlight on Local presented by Metro is a unique feature that celebrates the very best in local food being grown, produced and manufactured in Ontario. Come visit the Champions Showcase where many of our winning entries will be featured. Also on hand, we have Metro Grocery Stores showcasing many of the successful participants in their Locally Sourced Program which fosters new businesses trying to break into the grocery market and helps them find success.

Growth Hub Stage

RBC Future Launch has partnered with the Royal to create a robust content hub to help young Canadians with their next steps for both education and careers in the Agri Food space and beyond. Attendees can look forward to engaging keynote speakers, panel discussions, professional development tools and workshops, and networking opportunities that empower youth for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

The Future of Food – University of Guelph

Come check out University of Guelph’s exciting exhibit! Feeding the world sustainably might very well be the greatest challenge ahead, but the solutions to that challenge will be full of opportunity. To meet this challenge and create beneficial opportunities, University of Guelph is committed to research and innovation from agricultural fields and barns all the way to the family dinner plate, collaborating with industry and government partners, all the while training tomorrow’s leaders in agriculture, food, and so much more.

FARM AND PLAY ZONE

The tactile farm inspired play area is perfect for children full of energy. With hands-on educational activities that mimic the activities of a working farm, little ones can run, climb and play while learning about grains, vegetables, and tractors!

ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS

In this newly designed space, visitors can get up close with real farm animals. The farmers will be on hand to answer questions about animal management and care, as well as other realities of life on a farm!

MAD BARN NUTRITION CENTRE

Located within the Equestrian Zone of the show floor, the new Mad Barn Nutrition Centre will provide fair patrons and competitors with valuable insights and education into the importance of proper nutrition for all horses. Visitors can engage with Mad Barn’s nutrition experts, including MSc. PhD and DVM-trained staff, receive free diet evaluations on their horses, and gain a deeper understanding of nutrition's role in all horses' overall health and performance.

Canadian Kennel Club: Meet The Breeds

The Canadian Kennel Club will host different dog breeds throughout the 10 days of The Fair! Come meet the dogs and their handlers, and learn about the versatility and variety of pure-bred dogs in Canada.

Mechanical Bull

Come try your hand at the rodeo! Can you stay on for 8 seconds?

The Bull will be operated every day of the Fair from 11:00AM-2:30PM and 3:00PM-5:00PM.

48 inches minimum height to ride. Consent form required. Parent or guardian must sign if rider is under 18.
