With nearly a dozen years of experience in the culinary industry, Scarborough, Ontario native Tre Sanderson has made a name for himself as one of the most talented chefs in Canada. In 2023, he emerged as the winner of Food Network Canada’s Top Chef Canada Season X, showcasing his impressive culinary skills and passion for food. A first-generation Canadian with Jamaican roots, Chef Tre is inspired by his Caribbean heritage and infuses it into every dish he creates. He believes that food is not just about taste, but it is also a cultural experience that brings people together. His dishes reflect his unique culinary perspective, artful plating, and explosive flavours that have earned him numerous accolades and recognition in the industry. Chef Tre has worked in some of Toronto’s best kitchens throughout his career, where he has been fascinated by other amazing cuisines. In 2023, he was awarded the Restaurants Canada Culinary Award of Excellence, as well as Top-30-Under 30 award. Chef Tre is proud to be recognized as the first black chef to win Top Chef Canada and is honoured to be inspiring the next generation of young diverse chefs.
