2025 LIMOUSIN COMPETITION

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair gratefully acknowledges the contribution from Masterfeeds for their overall sponsorship of the Beef Cattle Shows.

Competition Information

Entry Deadline: Tuesday October 14, 2025. Late entries can be made online until Friday October 31, 2025, with the late entry fee.

Entry Fee: $85 per entry, $90 per cow/caf entry. Late Entry Fee: $265 per entry.

Chutes: $50 - are available to purchase for exhibitors with three (3) or more head stabled.

Important Dates

Move In - Barn: Tuesday November 4, 2025. Tack can be moved into the barn on Monday November 3, 2025. Cattle must be in place before Thursday November 6, 2025, at 8:00 AM

Move In - Tie-Outs: Tie outs will not be available until Monday November 3, 2025, after 8:00 AM.

Weigh In: Thursday November 6, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Walk to Tie Out Times:

  • Wednesday November 5 - Friday November 7: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Saturday November 8: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM OR 8:00 PM - 8:20 PM OR 9:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Sunday November 9: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Move Out: Sunday November 10, 2025, following conclusion of Supreme Show.

  • Tear down of stalls cannot start until after the Supreme Show in finished and trailers will not be allowed to move until all cattle have walked to tie outs.
  • No cattle will be allowed back in the barn on Monday November 10. Cattle can remain in tie outs until 12:00 PM (noon) on Monday.
  • Pack must be gone from the barn by Monday November 10 at 7:00 AM.

      EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE:

      1. All Limousin exhibits must meet a minimum requirement of 90% purebred, as recognized by the Canadian Limousin Association (CLA). Any entries without registration papers will be refused permission to show.
      2. Exhibitor's attire: Official CLA show shirt or vest must be worn by all exhibitors while in the show ring.
      3. Where numbers warrant, in the heifer calf, yearling female and bull calf divisions, class splits will be made using fullblood and purebred criteria according to the Canadian Herd Book.
      4. The RAWF has banned all aerosol cans from the marshalling area, as per rule #2 of the General Beef Rules and Regulations. By entering your animals, you are agreeing to abide by these rules and failure to comply will result in disqualification.

      Premier Exhibitor Award

      An award is presented to the exhibitor with the most points for animals owned and shown by the exhibitor based on their highest (6) placings in the individual classes. All animals accumulating points for this award must be the entries of one exhibitor. In the case of joint-ownership, the exhibitor must be specified, otherwise the joint owners will be considered as one exhibitor / entry.

      Premier Breeder Award

      An award is presented to the individual company (as recorded on the Certificate of Registration) whose animals accumulate the highest total points based on their highest six (6) placings in the individual classes. To be eligible for the Premier Breeder Award, the breeder must exhibit at the show. Qualification for this award is based on Canadian rules that specify all owners at the time of conception are the breeders of the animals.

      The Loriner Massey Memorial Trophy (Perpetual)
      Presented to the Premier Breeder in memory of Lorimer Massey, an active breeder and exhibitor of Limousin cattle.

      The Clifford Stanton Memorial Awards (Perpetual)

      Presented to the Grand Champion Female and Bull by the Stanton Family. Winners will receive a silver tray and $2,500 prize money.

      Breeder's Herd Awards

      $500 is awarded to each breeder showing a breeders herd (one per exhibitor) Sponsored by Hillside Farms of King City

      MASTERFEEDS SUPREME BEEF CHAMPIONSHIP

      The Masterfeeds Supreme Beef Championship class will invite the Grand Champion Bull and Female from each of The Royal's seven breed shows, the National Junior Beef Heifer Show back into the ring along with the supreme champions from premier regional beef shows in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes to be judged for overall Supreme Bull and Female. Three North American officials have been invited to decide who will take home the prize and title of Masterfeeds Supreme Bull and Supreme Female.

      The Royal Agircultural Winter Fair is a qualifying show for the Agribition Beef Supreme presented by CN.

      The Masterfeeds Beef Champions will be invited to participate in The Agribition Beef Supreme presented by CN.

      The Agribition Beef Supreme, presented by CN, will host the best of the best. On November 24 - 29, 2025, invited Supreme and Grand Champions from major livestock shows across North America join Agribition’s Grand Champion Bulls and Females to compete together in the Agribition Beef Supreme with a chance at the Supreme Champion title.
