The Royal features over 2,000 agricultural competitions featuring more than 5,000 animals, artisan cheeses, Ontario wines, giant vegetables, butter sculpting and more. It really is the best of the best in Canadian agriculture. Find out who will be crowned Royal Champion this year.
The National Ayrshire, Red and White Holstein and Jersey shows will take place in the new Ring of Excellence. In the new ring will be the TD Canadian 4H Dairy Classic, a youth show (12–21). The National Black and White Holstein show will be held in the Ricoh Coliseum.
Breeders of Limousin, Charolais, Hereford, Angus, Shorthorn and Simmental cattle will all vie for the esteemed title of Masterfeeds Supreme Champion. Youth will be participating in the National Junior Beef Heifer Show.
The Royal welcomes over 400 sheep with eight different & unique breeds into the barns. You will see everything from Suffolk's, Oxford's, Lincoln's, Texel's, North County Cheviot's, Southdown's, Hampshire's, and Dorset's.
Love goats? Everyone does. The Royal welcomes over 250 goats into the barns and are now competing in 13 divisions in the dairy and meat goat shows. The Youth Goat show has pee wee, junior, intermediate and senior divisions.
There are over 50 different breeds of standard Poultry, 48 of Bantams, 40 of pigeons, and 34 breeds of waterfowl competing this year.
They're fun, they're cute & kids love em! The Royal showcases over 100 different selections of breeds of rabbits and cavies, and several fiber classes to showcase wool, or garments made of angora wool and other natural fibers.
Every year The Royal hosts the Ontario Junior Barrow Show & Sale on opening day of the fair. The competition is for Ontario youth (9-21) passionate about raising and showing swine. Competitors are vying for championship titles in showmanship and conformation.
Our annual competition for the biggest, tallest, heaviest beets, cabbages, carrots, gourds, parsnips and sunflowers attracts exhibitors from all over. The Giant Pumpkin display is a spectator favorite, so come get your picture taken with these scale-tippers!

The preservation masters of Canada compete for the best strawberry jam, marmalade, and dill pickles for the Premier Jam or pickle maker in professional and amateur divisions.
The youth of Ontario have combed their fields to bring us samples of the very best, award winning wheat, oat and barley sheave crops. Competition open to 4-H Ontario members.
Horticulture is one of the brightest displays at The Royal. With fruits and vegetables of all shapes and sizes. Baskets overflow with apples, pumpkins, onion ropes, potatoes and more.
Whether you eat em, or bake em, you're sure to find a new appreciation for these gems. The apple competition has three main categories: Commercial, Heritage and New Variety.
Witness over 400/lbs of cheese competing in five major categories. See everything from giant blocks of cheddar, round brie wheels, flavoured goat's cheese, and buffalo milk cheese.
