Celebrate the people who help shape equestrian sport and make a lasting impact at The Royal. Nominations are now open for two special awards that recognize outstanding contributions to the equestrian community and will be presented during the 2026 Royal Horse Show.
New for 2026, The Royal Athlete Pathway Grant will provide financial support to young Canadian equestrian athletes, helping them pursue the opportunity to compete at The Royal Horse Show.
Eligible Junior athletes can apply for grants of up to $10,000 to help offset the costs of competing at The Royal, including travel and competition expenses. Up to ten athletes may receive support through the program.
The program is designed to help remove potential barriers for talented young athletes from across Canada by providing support toward the costs of competing at The Royal.
Athletes can apply before they have officially qualified for The Royal, with final grant eligibility confirmed once qualification is secured.
Applications close October 1, 2026.
The Royal Hunter Groom’s Award presented by Inglemere Veterinary Services
Behind every successful horse is a dedicated team, and this award recognizes the important role grooms play in the care, welfare and presentation of our equine athletes.
The Royal Hunter Groom’s Award is a national award presented annually to a hunter groom who has consistently demonstrated dedication to horse welfare, care and presentation throughout the qualifying period.

Great sportsmanship is an important part of equestrian sport, both in and out of the competition ring.
The Jane Hunter Sportsmanship Award recognizes the most sportsmanlike pony competitor who has shown throughout the year and is competing at that year’s Royal Horse Show.
