RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. This show is officially sanctioned by the Canadian Meat Goat Association and is governed by the rules and regulations of the CMGA. Registrations are additionally governed by Livestock Rules and Regulations #4.
  2. All incomplete entries will be treated as late entries and subject to the late entry fee of $25.00 per entry. Exceptions will only be made for information pending. Please ensure ALL information is correctly filled in.
  3. Entry fees are non-refundable.
  4. There shall be no limit to the number of entries that may be made by an Exhibitor. Pen space will be allotted according to the number of animals brought to the RAWF.
  5. Substitutions are allowed as follows: Two substitutions within a class per exhibitor, substitutions must be made within the same age class and must be made through the RAWF Agriculture Show Office prior to 6:00 PM on Saturday November 2, 2024.
  6. No animal may be shown in more than one class, except for Championship and Special Classes.
  7. All animals shown in Special Classes must have been shown in their regular classes.
  8. Any evidence of fresh tattoos will result in disqualification.
  9. All Canadian owned goats must be registered with the Canadian Meat Goat Association. Original registration certificates for animals must be shown when tattoos are checked and available in the ring for Championship classes. All animals must be legibly tattooed; tattoos must match the original papers. Certificates for all animals regardless of age must be shown. No papers, no show. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  10. A foreign resident animal shown must have the original registration paper as issued by a recognized breed association in the country of residence. No photocopies or stamped duplicates will be accepted.
    All goats will be checked by a committee of three CMGA members in good standing conducting the required health check. Any animal not passing inspection will be asked to leave the facilities. There will be no kidding or recent signs of parturition at the RAWF. CMGA health rules apply. Cross checks of animals at the show and animals presented will be done by the chairperson.
  11. If an exhibitor does not agree with the health check results they may have a vet check the animal at their own expense.
  12. All females entered in senior classes MUST have kidded in the previous 12 months.
  13. All exhibitors must be dressed in black trousers and white, collared shirts. Athletic pants, including yoga pants, will not be permitted.
  14. The base date for computing the age of the animals is November 1, 2024.
  15. No accommodation will be provided for goats not properly entered and shown.
  16. Exhibitors must inform the RAWF’s Agriculture Show Office if they are NOT showing the herd entered.
  17. The Royal reserves the right to combine classes of 3 or fewer entries.

Premier Exhibitor

The Premier Exhibitor Award goes to the exhibitor winning the largest number of points. Points as follows:

Juniors: 1st - 5, 2nd - 4, 3rd - 3, 4th - 2, 5th - 1

Seniors: 1st - 10, 2nd - 8, 3rd - 6, 4th - 4, 5th - 2

Premier Breeder

The Premier Breeder Award goes to the exhibitor winning the largest number of points. Any exhibitor must show at least five (5) head owned by themself. Points as follows:

Juniors: 1st - 5, 2nd - 4, 3rd - 3, 4th - 2, 5th - 1

Seniors: 1st - 10, 2nd - 8, 3rd - 6, 4th - 4, 5th - 2

Premier Herdsman Award

The award will be based on the best display not including the quality of animals. Preference will be given to displays that educate the pulic on the Canadian Meat Goat Industry. 50% of the total score will be for general neatness of the exhibit and grooming of the animals. The remaining points will be allotted for courtesy displayed in providing information to the public and sportsmanship. Every exhibitor showing will be deemed a competitor.

Best In Show

Three Grand Champion Does compete for Best In Show Grand Champion. Ribbon Class only.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. All exhibitors showing in the market kid show must be dressed in white collared shirts and black trousers. Shirts shall not bear any letters, marks or labels purporting to reveal the identity of the exhibitors. No hats or caps are to be worn in the show ring. No entrance to the ring will be the result for failing to comply with this rule. This rule will be strictly enforced.
  2. Limit of 2 entries per class. Please note that entries are not required to be specific to an animal. Each owner will be allowed complete substitution of market kid entries so long as the number of entries within a class is not increased.
  3. Official weighing for market kids will commence on Saturday November 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Animals not weighed will not be permitted in the competition ring.
  4. All buck kids must be properly altered (no testicles or cord present) and must not show signs of swelling or recent castration (fully healed). Note: Market kid classes include both females and castrated males.
  5. All kids must be born in the current calendar year.
  6. A committee of three CMGA members in good standing will conduct the health check. Any animal not passing inspection will be asked to leave the facilities. Cross checks of animals at the show and animals presented will be done by the chairperson.
  7. Entries in the pen of three are not eligible to enter the single kid classes.
  8. Combinations of females and castrated males are allowed for the pen of three classes
  9. Section 701 classes will be judged in their pens, not shown in the ring. Pens will be designated by the Goat Superintendent and placed in a prominent area for maximum marketing exposure
  10. The top 10 Market Kids must be sold through the auction. Confirmation letters received after the entry deadline will
    determine how the top 10 are determined
  11. Meat Goat Committee Chair, Becky Vissers, can be contacted to arrange for the care and sale of your market kid
    so exhibitors may depart upon release Sunday evening and still participate in the sale Tuesday evening.
  12. The selling weight of Kids sold in the auction will be the actual weight on the day prior to Show Day. No re-weighing will be permitted after the official weigh in.
  13. Exhibitors acknowledge the Royal’s right to randomly test any market animal and if any illegal drug residu(s) are found, the RAWF will not make payment to the exhibitor for that animal or animals, and may take action to bar the Exhibitor from competing at future shows of the RAWF. See RAWF Livestock Rules and Regulations 24 & 25.
  14. A commission charge will be deducted based on the 2023 commission rate as per the Livestock Rules and Regulations, Auction Information and noted here (Please note that the rates are only charged on values over
    the threshold amount. (E.g. Live animal Gross $12,500 would be charged: 6% on $2,000 plus 8% on $8,000 then
    10% on $2,500):
