Entry Deadline: Tuesday October 14, 2025. Late entries can be made online until Friday October 31, 2025, with the late entry fee.

Entry Fee: $85 per entry, $90 per cow/calf entry. Late Entry Fee: $265 per entry.

Chutes: $50 - are available to purchase for exhibitors with three (3) or more head stabled.

Important Dates

Move In - Barn: Tuesday November 4, 2025. Tack can be moved into the barns on Monday November 3, 2025. Cattle must be in place before Thursday November 6, 2025, at 8:00 AM

Move In - Tie-Outs: Tie outs will not be available until Monday November 3, 2025, after 8:00 AM.

Weigh In: TBD.

Walk to Tie Out Times:

  • Wednesday November 5 - Friday November 7: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Saturday November 8: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM OR 8:00 PM - 8:20 PM OR 9:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Sunday November 9: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Move Out: Sunday November 9, 2025, following conclusion of Supreme Show.

  • Tear down of stalls cannot start until after the Supreme Show is finished and trailers will not be allowed to move until all cattle have walked to tie outs.
  • No cattle will be allowed back in the barn on Monday November 10. Cattle can remain in tie outs until 12:00 PM (noon) on Monday.
  • Pack must be gone from the barn by Monday November 10 at 7:00 AM.

      Emerson Clarke Memorial Junior Shorthorn Show
      Sponsored by the Ontario Junior Shorthorn Association

      Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
      Location: Semex Ring of Excellence, South Ring

      Juniors must be a member of the Ontario Junior Shorthorn Association.
      Heifers must be chosen from herds already stabled at The RAWF. Entries must be submitted online by no later than one week prior to the show. See OSA website for details.
      Ribbons 1st to 5th will be awarded.

      2. Junior Showmanship, 10 - 13 years

      EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE:

      1. Any Shorthorn shown at the RAWF is subjected to parentage tests and/or mouthing. Tests will be supervised by the Show Committee of the Ontario Shorthorn Association. In the event that the veterinarian determines that the animal's age is incorrect, that animal will be barred from showing. All cattle must have Canadian Papers to be shown at the RAWF.
      2. ALL CATTLE ENTERED MUST BE REGISTERED PRIOR TO MAKING ENTRIES TO THE RAWF (entries with "registration applied for" will not be accepted).
      3. Exhibitor Attire: All must wear the designated burgundy show shirts while showing. Shirts are available for purchase at a cost of $60 per shirt. They are available in mens and womens sizes. Please order IN ADVANCE from the Ontario Shorthorn Association.
      4. To be eligible to show, males must be at least 93.8% pure and females must be at least 87.5% pure (except in class 1, 2, & 3).
      5. The RAWF has banned all aerosol cans from the marshalling area, as per rule #2 of the General Beef Rules and Regulations. By entering your animals, you are agreeing to abide by these rules and failure to comply will result in disqualification.

      Shorthorn Plus Heifer Calf

      Born on or after January 1st, 2025 Min. 3 months of age

      Heifers between 50 and 87.4 % pure blood Shorthorn. Winners will not be included in the Division or overall Champion classes

      2.

      Shorthorn Plus Yearling Heifer

      Born between January 1st, 2024 and December 31st, 2024

      Heifers between 50 and 87.4 % pure blood Shorthorn. Winners will not be included in the Division or overall Champion classes

      3.

      Shorthorn Plus Bull Calf

      Born on or after January 1st, 2025 , Min. 3 months of age

      Calves between 50 and 93.7 % pure blood Shorthorn. Winners will not be included in the Division or overall Champion clases

      4A.

      Junior Heifer Calf

      Born on or after March 16th, 2025 , Min. 3 months of age

      4B.

      Intermediate Heifer Calf

      Born between February 1st, 2025 and March 15th, 2025

      4C.

      Senior Heifer Calf

      Born between January 1st, 2025 and January 31st, 2025

      5A.

      Junior Yearling Heifer

      Born between March 16th, 2024 and December 31st, 2024

      5B.

      Intermediate Yearling Heifer

      Born between February 1st, 2024 and March 15th, 2024

      Senior Yearling Heifer

      Two Year Old Heifer with Calf

      Born between January 1st, 2023 and December 31st, 2023 with her own 2025 natural purebred tattooed calf at foot.

      Heifer and Calf shall be shown as a unit except that the calf is eligible to be shown as a single animal in Breeder's Herd and Get of Sire. Calf information must be included on the entry.

      Mature Cow with Calf

      Born before January 1st, 2023 with her own 2025 natural purebred tattooed calf at foot.

      Female and Calf shall be shown as a unit except that the calf is eligible to be shown as a single animal in Breeder's Herd and Get of Sire. Calf information must be included on the entry.

      Junior Bull Calf

      Born on or after March 1st, 2025 , Min. 3 months of age

      Senior Bull Calf

      Born between January 1st, 2025 and February 28th, 2025

      Yearling Bull

      Born between January 1st, 2024 and December 31st, 2024

      Senior Bull

      Born before January 1st, 2024

      11.

      Progeny Of Dam

      Two animals, either sex, the progeny of one dam, must be exhibited in previous classes.

      One animal must be owned by the exhibitor.

      12.

      Get Of Sire

      A group of three animals from the same sire, both sexes represented, must be exhibited in previous classes.

      One animal must be owned by the exhibitor.

      13.

      Breeder's Herd

      A herd/ entry consists of 4 animals bred by the exhibitor. Both sexes must be represented and two of the animals must be 100% owned by the exhibitor.

      Must be exhibited in previous classes.


      2025 Shorthorn Breeder's Herd - James W. Rummerfield Award

      The Royal would like to thank James W. Rummerfield for his contributions to the Shorthorn show.

      Each entry shown in the ring for the Shorthorn Breeder's Herd class will be eligible to receive the James W. Rummerfield award of $500 subject to the following conditions:

      • A herd/entry consists of four (4) animals bred by the exhibitor. Both sexes must be represented and at least two (2) of the animals must be 100% owned by the exhibitor.
      • Only one (1) entry per breeder is eligible for the award.
      • To be eligible, entries must be received by the entry closing deadline of October 14, 2025. No late entries will be accepted into this class.
      • The Royal reserves the right in its sole discretion to determine the eligibility of entries to receive the award.

      SPECIALS


      Premier Exhibitor Award

      An award is presented to the exhibitor with the most points for animals owned and shown by the exhibitor based on their highest (6) placings in the individual classes. All animals accumulating points for this award must be the entries of one exhibitor. In the case of joint-ownership, the exhibitor must be specified, otherwise the joint owners will be considered as one exhibitor / entry.

      Premier Breeder Award

      An award is presented to the individual company (as recorded on the Certificate of Registration) whose animals accumulate the highest total points based on their highest (6) placings in the individual classes. To be eligible for the Premier Breeder Award, the breeder must exhibit at the show. Qualification for this award is based on Canadian rules that specify all owners at the time of conception are the breeders of the animals.

      Stewart Boyd Memorial Trophy (Perpetual)

      Presented to the Junior Female Champion by Mrs. Suzanne Boyd and Family, Michael and Debbie in memory of the late Stewart Boyd.

      The Harold R. White Trophy (Perpetual)

      Presented to the Grand Champion Female by the Canadian Shorthorn Association in recognition of the contribution to the Shorthorn breed by the late Mr. White.

      The Will A. Dryden Memorial Trophy (Perpetual)
      Presented to the exhibitor of the winning Get of Sire in memory of the late Will A. Dryden. Mr. Dryden was a charter member of the RAWF, its first president from 1919 to 1923, managing director from 1936-1949 and a member of the executive committee from the commencement of the RAWF in 1922 until his death in 1949. The trophy was presented originally by Mrs. Margaret Dryden to honour the memory of her husband.
      Reford W. Gardhouse Memorial Trophy (Perpetual)

      Presented by the Gardhouse family to the exhibitor of the winning Breeder's Herd. Reford Gardhouse was the President of the Ontario and Canadian Shorthorn Association and The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

      Bennett Trophy (Perpetual)

      Presented to the owner of the Grand Champion Bull in memory of Mr. & Mrs. S.G. Bennett, recognizing their contributions towards the Shorthorn breed.

      Shorthorn Championship Trophy (Perpetual)

      Presented to the exhibitor of the Best Shorthorn of the Show by the Shorthorn Society of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

      Shadybrook Farm Award
      Presented to the Grand Champion Female by Laurence Pathy. The winner will receive a silver tray and $1,500 prize money.
      Shadybrook Farm Award
      Presented to the Reserve Grand Champion Female by Laurence Pathy. The winner will receive a silver tray and $1,000 prize money.

      MASTERFEEDS SUPREME BEEF CHAMPIONSHIP

      The Masterfeeds Supreme Beef Championship class will invite the Grand Champion Bull and Female from each of The Royal's seven breed shows, the National Junior Beef Heifer Show back into the ring along with the supreme champions from premier regional beef shows in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes to be judged for overall Supreme Bull and Female. Three North American officials have been invited to decide who will take home the prize and title of Masterfeeds Supreme Bull and Supreme Female.
